Hino tips its trucks to Fieldays and the transport industry
June 14, 2016 11:22 pmAs well as offering truck drivers the chance to upgrade their licence, Hino Distributors (NZ) Ltd will be showcasing their built to go tippers at this week’s Mystery Creek Fieldays, 15-18 June 2016.
With either Class 4 or Class 5 truck licence prize packages up for grabs, the winners of the 20 June and 4 July draws will receive logbook theory, and practical training and assessment through AMS Group.
“The sector has been short of drivers for more than a decade, and it’s getting worse,” says Sime Darby Commercial Group General Manager. “The transition from Class 2 and Class 4 to the required Class 5 heavy duty licence takes time, money, and access to a suitable truck for lessons. Our competition is about making it easier for some.”
Mr Brown will be attending Fieldays on Thursday 16 June, along with Michael Doeg, Hino Distributors (NZ) Ltd’s new General Manager who started with the truck distributor this week.
Visitors to Hino NZ’s site E85 will have access to a range of Hino trucks, including two 500 series built to go tippers. The FG8J 4×2 nine speed manual is a good all round contractors’ vehicle. It features a 4.5m GDE steel bin constructed of Hardox Floor and Corten sides, two-way tailgate and SFOB hoist.
The FM8J 6×4 automatic is a rigid built to go tipper, designed for shorthaul or sitework. The 4.8m CWS tipping body has a Hardaz floor and Corten sides with a two-way tailgate and SFOB hoist. Running an Allison automatic transmission and with a Groeneveld automatic greasing system, drivers are kept happy both on and off the road.
On both trucks, additional safety features include a Hino RSP which automatically mutes the radio and activates the hazard lights and roof beacon when reverse gear is selected.
They are fitted with internal tie downs and body lock which is mandatory for restraining machinery or product. The trucks also include sunvisor, stoneguard and On Road Costs. An optional reverse camera can be easily fitted and linked to the multimedia system if required.
“Buying a truck is a significant investment; a number of factors, such as price, application, safety and access to a national service network play an important part in the purchase decision”, says Mr Brown. “Events like Fieldays gives us the opportunity to get out and talk with those who might not know the Hino brand in a relaxed and informal environment.”
The National Agricultural Fieldays, held annually at Mystery Creek Events Centre near Hamilton, is the biggest agricultural trade show in the southern hemisphere. Hino Distributors (NZ) Ltd can be found at site #E85 from Wednesday 15 June to Saturday 18 June.
