Hino New Zealand and Truckstops are reminding customers to take advantage their fixed price servicing initiatives which are believed to be the only nationwide offering of their kind in the country.
It includes Hino fixed price servicing and fixed price brake relines which provide a price up front regardless of which Truckstops branch the customer visits across New Zealand. All services are carried out to Hino’s recommended standards meaning the vehicles warranty is upheld as anything that needs to be checked and replaced is. Options include the basic A-service inspection, the oil drain and oil filter change B-Service right through to the C-Service which includes a top tune, engine, diff, trans and power steering oil change with purge valve and air drier replacement.
The air drier is part of a nationwide exchange programme which sees the old air drier unit pulled off and rather than replacing the desiccant while the truck is in the workshop an exchange unit is used immediately while the old unit is sent to the Truckstops head office in Palmerston North.
“The exchange programme ensures cartridges are returned and reused which is great for the environment while saving time and money for our customers,” Truckstops business development manager Phil Wilson says. The pricing depends on the model of truck but the online service calculator also gives Hino customers the ability to calculate their own servicing costs based on the number of kilometres travelled per annum. “This tool is unique to Hino in the New Zealand market and empowers Hino customers to estimate their own servicing costs so they can truly understand the cost of operating their truck,” Wilson says.
Furthermore, there is also a fixed price offering on brake re-lines. The initiative includes a nationwide lined brake shoe exchange programme where pre-lined shoes are ready to go. The old shoes are sent to Truckstops in Palmerston North where they are de-riveted, quality checked, painted, re-riveted and put back into circulation. This means the task of de-riveting and re-riveting linings is not carried out while customers’ trucks are in the workshop saving around two hours per axle.
“We are proud to deliver another initiative that makes Hino unique in New Zealand. No one else is able to provide a nationwide lined shoe exchange programme which saves the customer two hours downtime per axle.
“The fitment of after-market brake components can cause abnormal wear. Complementing our lined shoes with genuine Hino brake parts ensures all components are made to match which provides an extended life,” Wilson says.
